NWS - Has issued a Flash Flood Warning

The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a * Flood Warning for...

Northern Greenup County in northeastern Kentucky...

* Until 645 PM EDT Sunday.

* At 941 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that heavy rain was about to move back into an area that has already received 2 to 3 inches of rain. The heavy rain will cause flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Portsmouth, Jackson, Wellston, Point Pleasant, Gallipolis, Pomeroy, Oak Hill, Rio Grande, Rutland, Lake Vesuvius, New Boston, New Haven, Greenup, Mason, Franklin Furnace, Load, Letitia, Gallia, Vernon and Waterloo.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately. Please report Severe Weather to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
