On September 4, 2018, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a male driver in a burgundy Chevy sedan was exiting a shopping center located on the southeast corner of Fremont Blvd. and Blacow Rd (Big O Tires/ Kirby’s area). As the vehicle pulled out of the driveway on the north side of the shopping center onto Blacow Rd., the driver struck a male juvenile, in his teens, riding a bicycle. The collision caused the juvenile to fall and hit his head. The juvenile suffered non-life threatening injuries. The suspect did not stop and fled eastbound on Blacow Rd.
There was a short delay in the police department being notified. When traffic officers responded, they conducted an area canvas however they have very little evidence and no significant leads. Additionally no video evidence has been located depicting the vehicle and we do not have any license plate information for the suspect vehicle. The suspect and vehicle are described as follows:
Suspect vehicle: Early 2000's burgundy Chevy sedan with unknown damage
Suspect: Hispanic male adult, late 30's with a medium build and short facial hair
The vehicle in the attached photo is not the suspect vehicle. It is however very similar to the vehicle that has been described by witnesses.
