Advisory
Flood Warning
Flood Warning until 2:45 AM on Saturday, 9/8, for small streams and low-lying areas. Do not drive through flooded roads.
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a
* Flood Warning...
* until 245 am EDT.
* At 1038 PM EDT, the heavy rain that resulted in flash flooding
across the Philadelphia metropolitan area has ended, and the
threat for flash flooding is over. However, lingering flooding
continues, and many roads continue to be closed. Up to 5 inches of
rain fell earlier this evening, and this resulted in flooding
across the area. Therefore, the Flash Flood Warning is now an
areal Flood Warning.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
