Flash Flood Warning
Flash Flood Warning until 10:45PM. Dangerous flooding is possible. Do not drive through flooded roads.
* until 1045 PM EDT.
* At 639 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers and thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. 1 to 2 inches of rain
have already fallen, with Philadelphia International Airport
recording 0.61 inches of rain in just 9 minutes. Additional storms
are developing southwestward into eastern Delaware County. Flash
flooding is expected to begin shortly in the areas of heaviest
rain.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
