MET Eradications

On September 6, 2018, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served two consecutive and unrelated search warrants. The first site was located in the 1400 block of Railroad Flat Road in Railroad Flat. This location was previously the site of an attempted marijuana robbery in October of 2015 which resulted in the shooting death of three persons. Deputies located a trailer with primitive living conditions and an outdoor cooking area, however, no persons were present at the time of the search warrant. 201 large marijuana plants were seized and destroyed pursuant to the search warrant. The investigation is continuing.

The second site was located in the 4400 block of Hunt Road in Copperopolis. This location contained several acres of olive trees. Deputies located an elaborate marijuana growing operation concealed within the rows of the trees which included raised planter beds, lighting, and irrigation. In total, 2097 marijuana plants were seized and destroyed from the olive orchard. The investigation is continuing.
