HOBOKEN COMMUNITY INVITED TO ANNUAL SEPTEMBER 11TH INTERFAITH MEMORIAL SERVICE
The Hoboken community will come together, joined by United States Senator Robert Menendez, to share in its annual September 11th Interfaith Memorial Service for the victims, their families, the City of Hoboken and the entire nation. Fifty six (56) Hoboken residents were lost on September 11, 2001.
The service will take place on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Pier A 9/11 Memorial Site within the grove of ginkgo trees which are also aligned with the World Trade Center that were planted in 2002 as a living memorial. The memorial is made up of 56 glass panels to represent each of the lives lost. The victims’ names and birth years are engraved on the panels and is illuminated at night. The perimeter of the grove includes steel plates on the ground engraved with quotes from those who were there on that fateful day.
