The Coroner's Office reported that the forensic autopsy of Jennifer Rudemyer took place this morning at the Medical University of South Carolina. According to forensic pathologists, preliminary autopsy revealed that Rudemyer died as a result of a single—self-inflicted—gunshot wound and her manner of death was consistent with suicide. The final autopsy report is pending toxicology.

The Sheriff's Office is still investigating the circumstances surrounding the Widewater Road, Spanish Wells Plantation shooting. As of this afternoon, Gaston Perez—who sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the incident—remains hospitalized in stable condition at Savannah Memorial.
