Help BPD Locate Suspect Wanted in Stabbing

This morning at 2:47 am, officers responded to a home in the 1500 block of Edith Street on a report of woman screaming for help.  When officers arrived, they discovered that woman in her 70’s had been stabbed. 
 
The suspect in this case has been identified as: Mark Edward Jekabson is a white male, 42 years old, 5’ 11” tall, about 160 lbs, and has brown hair and blue eyes (see included photograph. Note: the suspect is clean shaven now).
 
The suspect is known to visit Live Oak Park and the Solano Avenue corridor (Berkeley/Albany). The suspect is wanted for attempted murder and may be armed and dangerous.  If you encounter the suspect, immediately dial 911.
