Stolen Vehicle
Location: 1800 Block of Benton Street

An officer observed a vehicle traveling on Great America Parkway near Gold Street that resembled a recently reported stolen vehicle. The officer ran a DMV check and confirmed the vehicle was stolen. The vehicle had at least two occupants.
The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop. The vehicle made no effort to pull over and accelerated onto Lafayette Street. The pursuit terminated with the driver crashing into two trees and a chain-linked fence on the 1800 block of Benton Street.
The driver and passenger were both juveniles (15 and 16 years old). Both juveniles were transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The driver was admitted to the hospital; following surgery, he will be released into his parents’ custody. The passenger was medically cleared and transported to Juvenile Hall.

Missing Person - At Risk
Location: 3100 Block of Homestead Road

Officers were dispatched to a report of a missing at risk adult from the 3100 block of Homestead Road. Numerous officers arrived to the area. The subject was located and safely reunited with their family.

Resisting / Obstructing
Location: N Henry Avenue and Stevens Creek Boulevard

A motorcyclist observed an officer enter a parking lot and immediately accelerated out of area and onto Stevens Creek Boulevard. The officer then witnessed the driver aggressively switch through multiple lanes of traffic, swerve in between cars and travel at a high rate of speed. The officer followed the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist turned onto Rosewood Avenue, a dead end street.
A police K-9 located the male suspect in a nearby business. A Records check revealed he had a suspended driver’s license and lengthy criminal history. A search of the motorcycle yielded false registration tabs. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Burglary
Location: 700 Block of Asbury Place

An unidentified suspect(s) broke into the victim's vehicle on the 700 block of Ashbury Place. Once inside of the car, the suspect(s) used the garage door opener to access the garage.
Upon return to the residence, the victim found that their vehicle had been stolen. The victim retrieved video surveillance of the incident and shared it with SCPD. The victim also shared the video surveillance on Nextdoor in an effort to seek witnesses and/or additional victims. If you have information related to this case, contact SCPD at (408)615-4700.

Theft from a Vehicle
Location: 1900 Block of Santa Inez Court

Public Safety Dispatchers received a call from a resident on the 1900 block of Santa Inez Court on a report of a theft from a vehicle.
According to the victim, the contents of the glovebox were strewn about the interior of the vehicle and a laptop was reported missing.
As the officer was talking with the victim, four additional neighbors approached the officer to report thefts from their vehicles. In total, five cars were reported to be ransacked. In each case, the vehicle was left unlocked by their owner.

Fraud
Location: 601 El Camino Real – Police Building

A victim of fraud came to the Police Building, at 601 El Camino Real, to report the crime.
A male suspect claiming to be an agent from the Internal Revenue Service contacted the victim. The suspect informed the victim of an outstanding penalty, which had led to a warrant for the victim’s arrest.
The suspect instructed the victim to purchase Google Play cards and Apple gift cards, totaling $14,500, and to provide the codes from all 33 cards to the suspect. The victim felt threatened and followed the suspect’s instructions.

Petty Theft
Location: 2800 Block of Homestead Road

A suspect approached the sales counter of a business on the 2800 block of Homestead Road and asked for two JUUL electronic cigarettes. The salesperson asked for the suspect’s identification. The suspect grabbed the cigarettes and ran away to a vehicle occupied by another suspect. The total loss was $73.98.

Elderly Financial Abuse
Location: 800 Block of Agnew Road

An officer was dispatched to the 800 block of Agnew Road on the report of potential fraud.
The reporting party noticed a large package outside the home of an elderly neighbor and offered to assist in carrying it inside. While lending a hand, the neighbor learned a female suspect requesting the victim’s credit card information as well as a check for $4,000 contacted the victim over the phone. The victim complied with both requests.
The suspect ordered miscellaneous items and had it shipped to the victim’s address. According to the victim, a representative from the Federal Bureau of Investigation would come by to pick up the package.
The suspect has not been identified and remains at large.

Identity Theft
Location: 2500 Block of El Camino Real

Public Safety Dispatchers received a call for service regarding suspicious activity at a motel on the 2500 block of El Camino Real. According to the reporting party, the registrants’ credit card was denied and the reporting party wanted the tenants evicted due to lack of payment.
Officers observed a bag containing personal identifying information for 100+ individuals, various narcotics, drug paraphernalia and fake identification cards.
Approximately two hours later, two suspects returned to the motel; one male and one female. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Petty Theft
2000 Block of El Camino Real

An officer was dispatched to the 2000 block of El Camino Real on the report of a theft.
Loss Prevention staff had a female suspect in custody for stealing several items of merchandise valued at $238.58. A Records check revealed the suspect had an outstanding warrant. She was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
