At the Sheriff’s Office, we continuously look to improve the way we communicate with Beaufort County residents and guests through social media. We recently created Twitter account @BCSOPIO to engage the ever-growing Twitter audience on matters of public safety—crime and major weather events—affecting Beaufort County.

Our primary communications platform—NIXLE—will no longer being used to push out information to our Emergency Management Division’s traffic and weather Twitter account @BCSOTRAFFIC. Those following @BCSOTRAFFIC will no longer receive NIXLE advisories on public safety.

Our Traffic Management team will continue to tweet information on traffic accidents and road hazards through @BCSOTRAFFIC, but moving forward followers of that Twitter account who wish to receive information on matters of public safety are asked to sign up for NIXLE www.nixle.com or follow @BCSOPIO
