When a man was carjacked in Fulton County on 08-06-18, he called a Clayton County Deputy asking if it was possible for  the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office to get involved.   The Deputy explained to the victim the jurisdictional logistics, but assured him that if his carjacker happened to drive through Clayton County, it would be the last car he would  ever jack again.

As fate would have it, the carjacker made the mistake that he and so many criminals who are now facing the wall at the “Hill-ton” now regret.   And that mistake was the decision to leave another jurisdiction to come to Clayton County.

While on Craig’s List looking to replace his vehicle taken in the carjacking, the victim was horrified to find that his stolen car was on the site for sale in Clayton County.  The victim immediately called Deputy Griffin and a sting operation was set up for the suspected carjacker to come sell the vehicle in the area of Gardenwalk Blvd.  Members of the  Sheriff’s Patrol Division were posted waiting for the arrival of the suspect who was identified as Dainel Akpobiyeri.  Akpobiyeri was surrounded quickly by Sheriff’s Deputies during the take down giving him no hope of escape.

 Akpobiyeri was positively dentified as the armed carjacker that robbed the victim in Fulton County.  Akpobiyeri signed his name on the title which the victim identified to be fraudulent. Several car titles and over 100 car keys were found at Akpobiyeri’s residence.

Akpobiyeri will eventually go back to Fulton to face charges for the carjacking he committed in that jurisdiction, but for now, he will face the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail.
