He said approximately 30 seconds later, a female came out from a vehicle, approached the garage and started yelling at him for cutting him off earlier. He stated the female threw off her shoe and threw it at his head, and then started punching him. The driver of the vehicle said he separated the subjects and then his friend went back inside to grab a bat but did not approach the female. The female confronted the male who took her parking space, and she said the male then yelled back at her to “go back to China”. The female told her husband what happened after he came out of Starbuck’s. The husband approached the male and wanted him to apologize for his comments. The subject who stole the parking spot punched the husband once to his left cheek. Scams/Other

Amazon Job Scam

A Daly City resident reported to me that he received a “robocall” from someone who left a message saying to visit “internetjobs.org” to get an internet job with Amazon. The resident told me that link sent him to a site for supposed internet-based Amazon jobs, although he said the link was not affiliated with Amazon in any way. The resident said he stopped reading when it said, “Amazon Cash Websites Application Page” and “If you are lucky enough to qualify, you can get the package for a small enrollment fee…” The resident was smart enough to realize that paying to apply for a job sounded shady and did not pursue it further.

Nextdoor.com

Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up, and I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access to a neighborhood if they don’t actually live there. Please note: the City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
