On August 29, 2018, at 5:27 p.m. Deputy Loren Barchett stopped a Black 2012 Honda minivan for traveling at 116 mph on Interstate 69 near State Road 64. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Barchett detected the odor of alcohol coming from the driver 36 year old Vincent Schoettle of Indianapolis. At that point Deputy Barchett conducted a roadside DUI investigation that resulted in Mr. Schoettle being placed into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the jail Mr. Schoettle was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving. He remains in custody on a $650 bond.
