| On 08/23/2018, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s West County Street Narcotics Team concluded a four month narcotic investigation into the methamphetamine and heroin trafficking activities of Richard Kevin Riley by executing search warrants on his person, vehicles, and residence. On 8/23/18 at approximately 1915 hrs., detectives served a signed narcotic search warrant at Riley’s residence, located in the 14300 Block of Burbank Blvd in the City of Van Nuys. Riley and his wife Rhonda Harvey were encountered inside the residence and detained pursuant to the search warrant. A search of the residence revealed the seizure of over 3 pounds of methamphetamine, 6 ounces of heroin, and 3 gallons of Gamma Hydroxybutric Acid (GHB). Evidence of narcotic sales were also seized which included digital scales, packaging material, pay and owe records, and a large sum of cash deemed to be narcotic proceeds. In addition to the narcotics, numerous loaded weapons were found throughout the house, totaling 5 handguns, 2 rifles and an assault rifle. Riley was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail on numerous narcotic and weapons violations. His bail was set at $160,000 and remains in the custody of the Sheriff’s Department. His next scheduled court appearance is set for 9/06/2018 at 1:30 pm in Court Room 12. Harvey was also booked into the Ventura County Jail where she remains in custody. Her bail was set at $90,000 and her next scheduled court appearance is set for 8/29/2018 at 1:30 pm in Court Room 14. The West County Street Narcotics Team is comprised of narcotic detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, The Port Hueneme Police Department and the Oxnard Police Department. The California National Guard Counter Drug Task Force assisted the West County Street Team with this investigation. |
