New Cell Phone Law Helps Capture #9 On Sheriff Victor Hill’s Top Ten Most Wanted

If you make Sheriff Victor Hill’s Top Ten Most Wanted, it is not wise for you and friends to drive while using a cell phone.

Case & Example:

Yesterday an Atlanta Police Officer observed a man on his cell phone while he was driving and initiated a traffic stop to write him a ticket.  The passenger, who was later identified as Cornelius Harris, initially gave a false identification card to the officers.  However, officers were able to see that the male on the identification card did not look like Cornelius Harris.  Mr. Harris then admitted that he was lying, but continued to lie, using another false name and date of birth.  Officers then took Mr. Harris and the driver into custody, as the driver was in violation of his driver’s permit by not having a licensed driver in the passenger seat.

While taking inventory of the vehicle, officers discovered a stolen firearm in the trunk, along with one MDMA pill and items used for breaking into vehicles.  Upon being fingerprinted by the Atlanta Police Department, officers were able to positively identify the passenger as Cornelius Harris and that he was #9 On Sheriff Victor Hill’s Top Ten Most Wanted which explained why he went to great lengths to lie about his identity.

Cornelius Harris was wanted for an incident that occurred on July 28, 2018 at a location in Clayton County where during an altercation with a woman, he grabbed her by the throat causing the her to be unable to breathe.  The attacker then pointed a black semi-automatic pistol at the victim’s stomach and stated “I will kill you right here.  Don’t think I am playing.”  The force of the assault left visible marks consistent with strangulation.

The “Hill-ton” customer service representatives held Harris reservations for him so that he could enjoy a suite facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail.
