Subject:   Sexual Assault and Rape                
 
Location:   900 Block of Valley Drive, Manhattan Beach, CA

On Sunday, August 26, 2018, at approximately 9:00 pm, MBPD officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of Valley Drive regarding a sexual assault and rape. The victim said she arrived home at approximately 8:30 pm.  Shortly after, a male suspect entered her residence through the front door.  The suspect proceeded to sexually assault and rape the victim.  The suspect then fled from the victim’s residence through the front door and out of sight.  It is unknown if the suspect fled the location on foot or in a vehicle.
 
The victim was not physically injured but she was transported to the hospital for a sexual assault evaluation.
 
The suspect is described as a male, black, in his early 40’s, with an athletic build, clean-cut, 6’2” tall, medium complexion, possible thin mustache, wearing tan shorts, dark T-shirt and gray tennis shoes.
 
The Manhattan Beach Police Department is asking for the public’s help with anyone who may have seen this suspect in the area at the time of this crime.  We are also asking residents in the area to check their video surveillance systems for the suspect.
