Woman Who Struck A Clayton Police Officer With Stolen Car Captured Today. Sheriff Victor Hill

On August 13, 2018 officers from the Clayton County Police Department responded to a report of a fight and disturbance.  Upon arrival, persons involved in the disturbance began to flee on foot and in their vehicles.  A Clayton County Police Officer attempted to stop one of the vehicles, approaching it from the rear.  The driver of the vehicle reversed at a high rate of speed, striking and pinning the officer’s legs between his patrol vehicle and the assailant’s vehicle.  The assailant then fled the scene at a high rate of speed toward another Clayton County officer, nearly striking them in the process.  The injured officer suffered a fractured right leg and soft tissue damage and had to be hospitalized for his injuries.  The patrol vehicle sustained damage to the front end and hood.  The vehicle used to strike the officer was found abandoned, one mile from the incident location.  Both the vehicle and the tag were found to have been reported stolen.

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office joined forces with Clayton County Police in a joint investigation to identify who viciously attacked the officer.  The team work between the two tightly knitted agencies resulted in CID Detectives identifying and obtaining warrants for Demeka Malcom as the perpetrator of this assault on a Police Officer.

Early this morning members of Sheriff Victor Hill’s elite Fugitive Squad took Malcom in to custody.  She is now facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail.
