This weekend is expected to be the last weekend of major work done on the SUEZ Water project in southwest Hoboken.
The traffic pattern will allow for more open lanes than last weekend:
- Marin Boulevard and Grove Street will remain open both inbound and outbound throughout the weekend.
- Two lanes of Jersey Ave will be open, allowing for inbound and outbound traffic.
- Harrison Street will remain open until 8 p.m. Friday before closing for the remainder of the weekend.
SUEZ Water predicts the following two weekends will require electrical work, which may cause single lane closures for short periods of time but is not expected to close off streets. Those details will be released as they are confirmed.
Throughout the weekend, Mayor Bhalla will be monitoring the SUEZ Water project and traffic flow and will reopen lane(s) if possible. Mayor Bhalla is prepared to shut the project down and reopen the roads, as he has once before, if the traffic issues begin to pose a threat to the health, safety, and well-being of Hoboken residents.
Additionally, with the lane closures on 495, residents are encouraged to use the 14
th Street Viaduct when possible.
