On 08/17/2018, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s West County Narcotic’s Street Team concluded a month long narcotic investigation into Oxnard resident, Cayetano Fuerte, who was involved in the sales of methamphetamine to residents of Ventura County. The West County Street Team was assisted by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Gang Unit. On 08/17/2018, Detectives detained Fuerte during a traffic stop in the City of Oxnard. A signed search warrant was then executed at two locations in the City of Oxnard where Fuerte had been residing. During the search of one of the residences, Detectives located approximately 4 pounds of methamphetamine, narcotics paraphernalia indicative of methamphetamine sales and a sum of currency deemed to be proceeds of illegal narcotic sales. Two hand guns and ammunition were also seized. Fuerte was booked at the Ventura County Main Jail for possession for sales of methamphetamine and weapons charges. His bail was set at $300,000. His next court appearance is not yet scheduled. The West County Street Narcotics Team is comprised of narcotic detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the Oxnard Police Department, and the Port Hueneme Police Department. |
