The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has extended the

* Flood Warning for... Washington County in north central Maryland... Northern Jefferson County in the Panhandle of West Virginia... Eastern Berkeley County in the Panhandle of West Virginia...

* Until 830 AM EDT Wednesday.

* At 216 AM EDT, stream gauges indicate flooding is occurring on Mill Creek near Bunker Hill and Tuscarora Creek near Martinsburg. These two streams are receding, but some streams continue to rise in Washington County. Other streams in the area may also be experiencing flooding.

* Some locations that may experience flooding include... Hagerstown, Martinsburg, Shepherdstown, Municipal Stadium, Robinwood, Fountainhead-Orchard Hills, Ranson, Boonsboro, Smithsburg, Inwood, Paramount-Long Meadow, Wilson-Conococheague, Williamsport, Mount Aetna, Mount Lena, San Mar, Long Meadow, Kearneysville, Saint James and Berkeley.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BERKELEY, WV ... JEFFERSON, WV ... WASHINGTON, MD

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
