Sheriff's Office investigating an early morning shooting that occurred on Levant Road, Bluffton. One man wounded.
At approximately 4:00 a.m., Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of shots fired with one man wounded on Levant Road in Bluffton. When deputies arrived, they met with the man, secured the scene and summoned nearby emergency medical services (EMS) personnel to respond and treat him.
While the man—who had sustained at least two gunshot wounds to his extremities—was being treated by EMS, deputies interviewed him and witnesses. Deputies learned that while the man was standing in his front yard, he was approached by a male subject, who for unknown reasons began shooting at him. After wounding the man, the male subject fled the area on foot.
Sheriff's Office investigators reponded to the scene to process for forensic evidence and conduct additional interviews with witnesses. The wounded man was transported by EMS to Savannah Memorial, where he was reported to be in stable condition. The unknown subject was described as an adult black male with dreadlocks, wearing a red T-shirt—no other description is available.
