The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
August 16th
2141 Hours: Officer Taylor contacted and arrested a 40-year-old transient male for DUI on Elm St. He was booked into Fremont Jail.
0045 Hours: Officer Lenz contacted and arrested a 27-year-old transient male for possession of illegal narcotics on Cedar Court. He was cited and released.
August 15th
2048 Hours: Officers investigated an armed robbery that occurred on Cedar Blvd near the railroad tracks. The victim’s cell phone was stolen. No injuries occurred.
2058 Hours: Officers investigated another armed robbery on McLaughlin Ave. The suspect was spooked by a nearby vehicle and fled the scene on foot. No lost and no injuries occurred.
August 14th
0708 Hours: Four auto burglaries were committed throughout the city. The side window was shattered in all four cases.
1034 Hours: Officers Taylor and Damewood arrested a 36-year-old transient male for assault and resisting arrest at the 5600 block of Thornton Ave.
August 13th
0057 Hours: Officers Herrera and Smith contacted and arrested a 30-year-old Pleasant Hill male for DUI on 880/Mowry Ave. He was booked into Fremont Jail.
