#LASD West Hollywood Deputies Help Evacuate Residents from Apartment Building

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies from West Hollywood Station, responded to an apartment building on fire on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 8:23 p.m.

The incident occurred on the 1200 block of Clark Street in the city of West Hollywood. Deputies arrived at the location and immediately began evacuating people from the two-story apartment complex.  Approximately 10 residents had to be evacuated.

Of the eight units within the apartment complex, four were severely damaged.  L.A. County Fire Department and Beverly Hills Fire Department personnel extinguished the fire within 30 minutes.  The American Red Cross was on scene helping the displaced residents.

LASD’s Arson/Explosives Detail detectives responded and are now investigating the cause of the fire. The exact cause of the fire is still undetermined.

No deputies or residents were injured or suffered from smoke inhalation due to the fire.

The quick action by Los Angeles County deputies and Los Angeles County Fire and Beverly Hills Fire personnel, while placing themselves in harm’s way, undoubtedly saved lives.
