The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a
* Flood Advisory for... Central McDowell County in western North Carolina... West central Burke County in western North Carolina...
* Until 615 PM EDT.
* At 417 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to three inches of rain have fallen since 300 PM EDT.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... North Cove, Pleasant Gardens, Ashford, Woodlawn, Little Switzerland, Lake James, B.R. Parkway-Little Switzerland To Linville and Lake James State Park.
* Rapid rises along Toms Creek may cause low lying flooding.
* AFFECTED AREAS: MCDOWELL, NC ... BURKE, NC
