A felony probationer is arrested for Possession of Stolen Property, Forged notes & Intent to Defraud

DATE/ TIME OF INCIDENT: Thursday, August 16, 2018 7:45 am

INCIDENT: POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY/ POSSESSION OF FORGED NOTES/ POSSESSION OF PERSONAL IDENTIFYING INFORMATION WITH INTENT TO DEFRAUD

LOCATION: Stater Bros. Market, 4059 Phelan Road in Phelan

SUSPECT: Benjamin Misenheimer, 27 years-old, resident of Loma Linda

VICTIM: Multiple victims (Case still under investigation)


SUMMARY:

On Thursday, August 16, 201 8, at 7:45 am, Deputies Leiker and Carrera responded to the report of a suspicious subject at Stater Bros. Market in Phelan.

The male suspect was at the grocery store and attempted to purchase items and make money withdraws on what employees believed to be fraudulent credit cards. He left the store before deputies arrived; however, employees provided a thorough description of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving. Deputies Leiker and Carrera located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver of the vehicle, Benjamin Misenheimer, was found to be on felony formal probation and currently on Post Community Release Supervision. During a search of his vehicle, deputies located numerous stolen credit and debit cards, drivers’ licenses, social security cars and passports not belonging to him. Additionally, a forged check, expensive jewelry, narcotics and drug paraphernalia were located. Deputies have contacted multiple victims. The case is ongoing.

Stater Bros. Market employees did an excellent job. The information they provided law enforcement assisted in the apprehension of Misenheimer. Misenheimer was booked at the High Desert Detention Center for the above charges and an outstanding warrant. He is currently being held in lieu of $60,000.00 bail.
