Jackson Police Department goes pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Jackson Police Department goes pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
The Jackson Police Department is raising awareness to breast cancer in a unique way. The department is unveiling its newest addition to the department’s vehicle fleet – a pink scheme patrol car designed to stimulate conversation within the community and to encourage public awareness in the early detection and fight against this disease.

Almost everyone has been affected by this disease in some way and this is a way for our department to help draw awareness to this disease.  It is part of the “Real Men Wear Pink” Campaign and the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk in held annually in October.

The #BLUEBACKINGPINK movement began at the Jackson Police Department last year by the sale of t-shirts across the state and continued this year starting with the design of this vehicle.  The vehicle scheme was made possible by a generous donation from the Tennessee Window Tint Company.

The vehicle will be on display in front of the department and we encourage everyone to stop and see the car. The vehicle will also be turning up at local breast cancer awareness functions.  We are doing whatever we can to draw awareness to this disease and having a pink scheme police car will get everyone’s attention. While people stare at the car, hopefully they will understand the message the car is designed to send.
