Traffic stop leads to the arrest Gerrado Vargas for possession of a controlled substance

LOCATION: US HWY 395/ Bartlett Ave., In Adelanto
SUSPECT: Gerrardo Vargas, 26 years-old, of Adelanto
VICTIM: STATE OF CALIFORNIA
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 12:19am, Deputy Weaver from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station stopped a 2003 Red Kia Forte for California Vehicle Code violations near US HWY 395 and Bartlett Ave. in Adelanto.
The driver of the vehicle pulled over to the side of the road and stopped the vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle, later identified as Gerrardo Vargas, exited the vehicle in an attempt to flee on foot. Deputy Jahn was able to detain Vargas without incident. Deputies located a methamphetamine pipe in the pocket of Vargas’s pants and a plastic baggy containing methamphetamine in the passenger seat where Vargas was sitting.
