Sheriff Richard J Behnke reports on 08/14/2018 at approximately 1635 hours, his Deputies responded to a Personal Injuries Accident at the intersection of Main St and Centre St in Marcellus Village, Cass County Michigan. The initial investigation showed Muriel Lee Oswalt (29) of Marcellus, was traveling eastbound on Main St when she struck David Victor Reigle (69) of Vandalia, who failed to yield when turning south Centre St from Main St. Oswalt went off the roadway onto the sidewalk where she was evacuated by Marcellus Fire and Ambulance. Reigle traveled south of the roadway, through a brick sign and was initially trapped in his vehicle until being removed by Deputies due to smoke coming from the vehicle. Oswalt and Reigle were both evaluated by Emergency Medical Personnel and both were transported to Bronson Lakeview for non-life threatening injuries. Seatbelts were worn and alcohol/ drugs are not factors. Deputies were assisted by Marcellus Fire and Ambulance and Pride Care Ambulance. This crash remains under investigation.
