Traffic stop leads to arrest of Fort Branch man on paraphernalia charge. 
On August 15, 2018, at 8:13 p.m. Deputy U.B. Smith conducted a traffic stop on a Grey 2003 Buick Century on John Street for failing to signal its turn off of US 41. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Smith identified the driver as 46 year old Stephen Thomas of Fort Branch, Indiana. While speaking with Ms. Thomas Deputy Smith observed drug paraphernalia in plain view and placed Mr. Thomas into custody. After a brief roadside investigation Mr. Thomas was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia. He has since posted a $650 bond.
Assisting Deputy Smith in his investigation was Deputy Jennifer Robb.
All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
