INCIDENT:    Murder Investigation
 
LOCATION: Desert near Stoddard Wells Road West of Grasshopper Road, Apple Valley  
 
VICTIM:         Keenan Handley, age 44 a resident of Victorville
 
SUSPECT:    Howard Armstrong, age 31 a resident of Apple Valley
                       
 
SUMMARY:
UPDATE – On Tuesday, August 14^th, investigators from the Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail arrested Howard Armstrong for the murder of Keenan Handley.
 
Through investigation, investigators learned the Keenan Handley was last believed to be with the suspect, Howard Armstrong.  A search warrant was served at Armstrong’s residence and he was interviewed by investigators.  He was subsequently arrested, transported and booked into the Central Detention Center for PC 187 Murder.

On Sunday, August 12, 2018, deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department responded to a report of a possible dead body located in the desert near Stoddard Wells Road West of Grasshopper Road.  Deputies confirmed the victim was deceased and requested the assistance of the Specialized Investigations Division.
 
Investigators responded to the location and assumed the investigation.  The victim was identified to be Keenan Handley.  An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
