Narrative
On August 12, 2018 approximately 1:24 AM, an officer attempted to make a traffic enforcement stop on Kenneth Ammons. Ammons was riding a motor scooter and made several Vehicle Code violations. The officer also believed the motor scooter may have been a stolen vehicle. The officer attempted to stop Ammons. Ammons ran from the officer. Ammons discarded a loaded firearm during the foot pursuit. Firearm was recovered by the police. Officers were able to take Ammons into custody without incident. Search incident to arrest revealed Ammon was in possession of narcotics, a digital scale, money, and a cell phone. Ammons was placed under arrest for gun charges and drug possession for sale. Ammons was transported to jail.
