Man Who Killed Woman By Shooting Her In The Face Captured After 4 Hour Manhunt. Sheriff Victor Hill

Earlier this morning around 11am, Clayton County Police responded to an apartment complex located on Garden Walk Blvd where a man shot a woman several times in the face area killing her.  This shooting occurred in front of the woman’s step-father and he was able identify the shooter as Randy Young.  The step-father of the deceased woman gave the Police Officers Young’s direction of flight who was on foot and still armed.

When Sheriff Victor Hill arrived on the scene, he contacted the commander of the Fugitive Squad and had him activate the entire unit for the manhunt.  Sheriff Hill and Chief Kevin Roberts coordinated air support, and K-9’s for the ground to assist Officers and Deputies in the manhunt for Young.

Officers and Deputies tracked Young on foot to the wooded area behind the H-Mart located on Highway 85 in Riverdale. They then set up a tight perimeter to prevent Young from escaping out of the wood line.  Shortly after Officers and Deputies entered the wood line, K9 Oldin spotted Young and while apprehending him was stabbed twice in the head with a knife by Young.   K9 Oldin bravely defended himself while being stabbed and was able to bite Young in return aiding in his apprehension. Young had a gun in his waistband area that Officers and Deputies found while apprehending him.

K9 Oldin was rushed to the closest animal hospital being escorted by both Sheriff’s Deputies and PD Officers. K9 Oldin is expected to survive his wounds.

The Sheriff went to the hospital to pay K9 Oldin a visit to make sure he was ok, and personally thank him for a job well done in getting a no good murderer off of the streets.  On the other hand, Young will not receive a visit from the Sheriff while he is being treated for his dog bite wounds.  He can look forward instead to seeing the Sheriff at the “Hill-ton” where he will spend years facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail.
