Castaic/ Val Verde Crime Prevention/Public Safety Report for July 23, 2018 - August 5, 2018

Here is the Castaic/ Val Verde Crime Information and Public Safety Report for July 23, 2018- August 5, 2018:

7/23/18 

Grand theft - 31000 block of Arena Drive
The victim reported a Husky brand toolbox containing approximately $2,000 worth of tools was taken from his truckbed. The items were left unsecure and unattended for two days. 

7/25/18 

Arson - 28000 block of Morningside Drive
The victim reported the exterior wall of building was set on fire. 

7/26/18 

Grand Theft Auto- 28000 block of Cascade Avenue
The victim reported a 2004 Toyota Tacoma was stolen from the location. The vehicle was taken during the early morning hours. 

7/27/18 

Petty Theft - 31000 Castaic Road

The business reported a battery jumpstart kit (value $15.00) iwas stolen from the location sometime during business hours. 

8/3/18 

Petty theft- 29000 block of Cambridge Avenue
The victim reported miscellaneous items were stolen from his unlocked vehicle during the early morning hours. 

8/3/18 

Residential Burglary - 31000 block of San Martinez Avenue
The victim reported numerous tools stolen from his house between July 28- August 3. The suspect(s) broke into the location through the rear door. Among the items taken were two generators, a weed wacker and a green toolbox. 

8/4/18 

Petty Theft- 27000 block of Betina Court
The victim reported miscellaneous personal items stolen from an unlocked vehicle during the early morning hours. One of the items taken was a brown wallet containing the victim's California driver’s license. 

8/4/18 

Robbery - 31000 block of Castaic Road
The victim reported being held at gunpoint inside his hotel room. The suspect allegedly demanded money and ran from the location. Responding deputies located an adult male matching the suspect's description. A firearm was recovered in the vicinity of where the suspect was detained. The suspect was arrested and booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

8/05/18 
Grand Theft - 31000 block of The Old Road
The victim reported having his laptop, i-phone and backpack stolen by a female he met online. After being picked up for his supposed date, she stopped to let him put gas in her car. After filling up her vehicle she drove off with the victim’s belongings in her car.
