Gloucester Township has lowered the speed limit to 35 mph on Salina (County House) Road within the Township Of Gloucester. The new 35 mph speed limit signs have been installed and take effect immediately. Variable message boards have also been put in place notifying drivers of the speed limit change.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), exceeding the posted speed limit or driving too fast for conditions is one of the most prevalent factors contributing to traffic crashes. In fatal crashes 27% of those killed were in a crash involving at least one speeding driver.
