Police Blotter July 31st - August 5th

July 31st:

Auto Burglary - 300 block of Coronado St:
At 0712 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary which occurred sometime overnight. Upon arrival, the officer learned a neighbor saw two suspects near the victim around 0300 hours.

Stolen Vehicle - 2000 block of Key Blvd:
At 0757 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole the victim’s truck between 2300 hours on the 30th and 0630 hours on the 31st.

Arson 11425 San Pablo Ave:
At 0929 hours, an officer responded to the report of a fire inside of a box truck which was parked at the rear of the business.

Auto Burglary - 3070 EC Plaza:
At 1042 hours, officers responded to the report of an auto burglary that just occurred. Upon arrival, officers learned an unknown suspect arrived in a blue Volvo, shattered the window of the victim’s vehicle and stole miscellaneous property.

Auto Burglary - 9865 San Pablo Ave:
At 1052 hours, a CSO responded to the report of an auto burglary and learned an unknown suspect shattered the window of a Fiat and stole property. The suspect fled in a black Volvo SUV.

Auto Burglary – 5500 block of Zara Ave:
At 1231 hours, a CSO responded to the report of an auto burglary. Upon arrival, the CSO learned that an unidentified suspect broke a car window to the victim vehicle and stole a camera bag sometime during the night.

Parole Violation, Heroin Possession, Shoplifting – Marshalls, 10768 San Pablo Ave.
At 1518 hours, officers responded to the report of a shoplifting in progress. Officers arrived on scene and arrested a subject who had just exited the business with stolen property. During the investigation, the man was found to be in possession of heroin and was also wanted for a parole violation warrant. The man was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant – San Pablo Ave / Macdonald Ave:
At 2204 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 23-year-old man from Antioch on a Contra Costa County warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant – San Pablo Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 0202 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 34-year-old transient female on a Contra Costa County warrant. She was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

August 1st:

Auto Burglary 9895 San Pablo Ave:
At 0652 hours, an officer responded to the report of a male wearing a hooded sweatshirt that shattered the window of a Honda and stole items. The suspect fled the scene in a gray Honda Civic with yellow paper plates.

Possession of Controlled Subs., False Impersonation and Warrants - San Pablo Ave./Schmidt Lane:
At 1210 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted a 61-year-old Richmond woman who initially provided a false name. During the investigation, the woman was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and also had a warrant for her arrest. The woman was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then released with a citation.

Residential Burglary - 2300 block of Mono Ave:
At 1215 hours, officers responded to the report of a residential burglary that just occurred. An alert neighbor yelled at the suspect as he was kicking a front door. The suspect fled in a burgundy vehicle eastbound on Poinsett Ave.

Residential Burglary – 6900 block of Donal Ave:
At 1324 hours, officers responded to the report of a residential burglary in progress. While on scene, officers learned that an unidentified suspect kicked the garage door open and also pried off a screen from the kitchen window. The suspect was scared off when the homeowner started yelling.

August 2nd:

Residential Burglary 8100 block of Terrace:
At 1152 hours, officers responded to an alarm call. Upon arrival, it was determined that an unidentified suspect kicked open the front door and fled upon hearing the alarm.

Stolen Vehicle – 800 block of Lexington Ave:
At 1254 hours, a CSO reported the theft of a Honda Civic which was taken between 2200 hours on the 1st and 1030 hours on the 2nd.
DUI & Driving on a Suspended License: San Pablo Ave./ Eastshore Blvd.:
At approximately 1413 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted a 59-year-old Richmond male who was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was booked and released with a citation.

Vehicle Tampering and Grand Theft – 2500 block of Arlington Blvd:
At 2212 hours, an officer responded to a call regarding the theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle. The theft occurred sometime between 0730 – 2200 hours on the 2nd.

August 3

Criminal Threats, Shoplifting, Probation Violation, Trespassing, Poss. of Another’s Info – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1055 hours, an officer reports the citizen’s arrest of a 33-year-old male from El Cerrito and a 37-year-old male from Richmond. Officers learned the 33-year-old entered the business, concealed merchandise, and left without paying. When confronted, the 37-year-old male threatened to kill the employees. The males were located a short distance away and identified via an in-field show-up. The 33-year-old male had been previously trespassed from the business and was also on probation. The 33-year-old was transported to the ECPD for booking but had to be taken to the hospital for a medical condition. The 37-year-old male was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Stolen Vehicle – 2300 block of Cedar St:
At 1503 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect took the victim’s vehicle between 1700 hours on 8/2 and 1400 hours on 8/2.

August 4

Auto Burglary – 2300 block of Arlington Blvd:
At 0656 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle by picking the driver side door lock. The suspect fled to an awaiting car after the victim’s vehicle alarm sounded.

Shoplifting – 2000 El Cerrito Plaza
At 1143 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the business, selected a piece of rolling luggage, and then began to fill the luggage up with miscellaneous clothing. The suspect then casually walked out of the store without paying for the merchandise.

Vehicle Tampering – 1200 block of Brewster Dr:
At 1501 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect attempted to enter the victim’s vehicle by trying to pick the driver’s door lock. The suspect was unable to gain entry. The incident took place between 2000 hours on 8/3 and 1300 hours on 8/4.

Warrant Arrest – 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1702 hours, an officer reports the arrest of a 44-year-old male from Richmond, after officers were dispatched to the store on the report of a male concealing items into a bag. Upon contacting the male, it was discovered he had a warrant for his arrest. The male was booked and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

August 5

Vehicle Tampering – 1200 block of Brewster Dr:
At 0946 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect attempted to gain entry to the victim’s vehicle by picking the driver door lock. The suspect was unsuccessful but left the door and locking mechanism damaged. The crime took place between 1500 hours on 8/4 and 0900 hours on 8/5.

Warrant Arrest – 6050 El Cerrito Plaza
At 1618 hours, an officer was dispatched to a disturbance at the business where they contacted a 43-year-old male from San Francisco. A records check revealed the man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The male was issued a citation in the field and released.
