Brush Collection Update, 8/6/18

The Township completed the first round of brush collection on Wednesday, August 1^st. During this first round, we collected more than 36,000 cubic yards of brush and storm debris. In a typical year, Medford Township recycles approximately 17,000 cubic yards of brush and tree debris. Township Officials are currently pursuing FEMA funding for reimbursement of expenses for this monumental task.

Crews will begin the second and final round of collections based on the collection schedule below:

Zone 3: Week of August 13

Zone 5: Week of August 27

Zone 4: Week of September 10

Zone 2: Week of September 24

Zone 1: Week of October 8

Residents who have brush and tree parts should place the material within the right-of-way in front of their homes.　 Township Ordinance states brush should not be placed at the curb more than ten days prior to a scheduled collection. Brush piles should be placed neatly out of the roadway and out of the lane of travel.　 Brush piles should not restrict visibility or impede traffic in any way.

Material should only contain vegetative debris and be free of all lumber, fence posts, and other wooden objects.　 Material should not be placed near mailboxes, fire hydrants, or utility boxes.　 Branches and limbs should be cut in lengths no longer than eight (8) feet.　 Material larger than eight (8) inches in diameter and tree stumps cannot be collected.　

Residents who cannot wait for a roadside collection may also bring their material to the DPW yard any Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 2 pm.　 The yard is also open regularly on the third Saturday of each month from 8 am to 1 pm.　 Saturday hours for the remainder of the year are:
