Body Recovered from Rock River
On 08-06-18 at about 2:15pm, Janesville Police Officers were dispatched to the area of the Rock River near the Centerway Street Bridge. A citizen was walking along the river and reporting seeing a possible body in the river.
Officers checked the area and located a body north of the dam about 20 feet from the shore. The Janesville Fire Department was requested to assist with recovering the body. Recovered from the river was a male body about 65 years of age or older. The identity is known and will be later released by the Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow. At this time, there are no reports of any Missing/Endangered People from the area. Investigation continues.
