*Update* #LASD SEB Responding to a Barricaded Shooting Suspect, 14500 block of Claressa Avenue, Norwalk

Sheriff’s deputies from Norwalk Station responded to a shots fired call in the vicinity of 13300 Rosecrans Avenue in the city of Norwalk.  Sheriff’s helicopter was quickly on scene and observed a dark colored Honda civic matching the description of the suspects’ vehicle fleeing the location. The Aero unit followed the suspects’ vehicle to a residence in the 14500 block of Claressa Avenue where the suspect exited the vehicle and ran into the back yard area and into a converted garage type residence.

On scene deputies were able to find a loaded handgun inside the vehicle and determined that a vacant business at 13303 Rosecrans Avenue had been shot at.  After an exhaustive search and attempts to contact and locate the suspect he was determined not to be in the residence.  During the suspect search by Special Weapons Team personnel another handgun was found in a shed area on the property.  The suspect who is still not in custody is considered armed and dangerous.  He is described as a 28-30 year old Male Hispanic, 5 ft. 7 in last seen wearing gray tank top and blue jeans.

LASD would like to thank the residents for their cooperation while searching for the suspect and if they see anyone matching the description please call 9-1-1.
