MAIT deputies investigate a major injury crash on Hwy. 395 near Air Expressway

INCIDENT: MAJOR INJURY TRAFFIC COLLISION
LOCATION: US HIGHWAY 395 AND AIR EXPRESSWAY, ADELANTO
INVOLVED PARTY #1: 31-year-old male, resident from Yuba City, driving a white 2015 Freightliner commercial truck pulling a trailer
INVOLVED PARTY #2: 65-year-old male, resident from Adelanto, driving a silver 2007 Saturn Ion
SUMMARY:
On August 4, 2018 at 7:05 p.m., deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) were dispatched to a major injury traffic collision that occurred at the intersection of US Hwy 395 and Air Expressway in Adelanto involving a commercial truck pulling a trailer and a four-door car.
Party #1 was driving north on US Hwy 395 south of Air Expressway. Party #2 was driving west on Air Expressway east of US Hwy 395. Party #1 and Party #2 entered the intersection. Party #1 collided into the driver’s side of Party #2. Party #2 sustained major injuries and was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center by helicopter. The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision.
