TUESDAY FOR GUSTY NORTH WINDS, HOT TEMPERATURES, AND VERY LOW
RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE SANTA BARBARA SOUTH COAST...
The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Red Flag Warning gusty north winds, hot temperatures, and very
low relative humidity, which is in effect from 6 PM this evening
to 9 PM PDT Tuesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in
effect.
* Winds...Areas of northwest to north winds 15 to 30 mph with
gusts 35 to 45 mph, strongest across the Santa Ynez range
tonight and Monday night.
* Relative Humidity...Minimum relative humidity 7 to 15 percent
today, lowering to 4 to 10 percent on Monday. Little or no
overnight recovery.
* Temperatures...Max temperatures 90 to 102 degrees today, rising
to 94 to 104 degrees on Monday.
* Impacts...If fire ignition occurs, conditions are favorable for
very rapid fire spread including long range spotting, and extreme
fire behavior which would threaten life and property.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are expected. A combination of strong winds...very low relative
humidity...hot temperatures, and very dry fuels can contribute to
extreme fire behavior. Please use extreme caution near fire
ignition sources.
