#LASD Detectives Investigating Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Collision, Lancaster

Traffic investigators from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station are investigating the circumstances of a fatal hit and run traffic collision involving a pedestrian. The collision occurred on Lancaster Boulevard near Elm Avenue, in the City of Lancaster on Saturday, August, 04, 2018 at approximately 2:00 a.m.

Detectives have learned the male adult victim was standing in the street on Lancaster Boulevard talking to the occupants of a black sedan which was parked on the south curb line. A full-size white truck, possibly a Chevrolet or Dodge, was driving east on Lancaster Boulevard at speeds in excess of the posted 15mph speed limit. The truck struck the victim and stopped before speeding away from the scene towards Sierra Highway. Witnesses reported the black sedan then fled the scene. Witnesses at the scene were not able to get a license plate for the truck. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he passed away from his injuries.

Lancaster Station Traffic Investigators need the public’s assistance to locate the white truck and identify the driver. Detectives also need to speak to the witnesses in the black sedan.

Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Traffic Investigators at Lancaster Sheriff Station by calling 661-948-8466.
