Jackson Police are continuing to investigate a Domestic Assault case involving a male being tased.
Around 12:00 p.m. August 2nd, officer of the Jackson Police Department responded to a call concerning a domestic assault. The on-scene officers put out a BOLO because the suspect had left prior to officers arrival. The suspect was observed driving in the area of the by-pass. Officers of the Jackson Police Department conducted a traffic stop and attempted to take the suspect into custody without incident.
However, the suspect refused to follow the orders of the officers to get on the ground. The suspect advised he was not going back to jail and that he would rather die. The suspect also threatened to walk into oncoming traffic. To prevent serious injury to the suspect, an officer deployed his Taser. The effects of the Taser allowed the officer opportunity to apprehend the suspect without causing serious bodily injury.
The subject was transported to the Criminal Justice Complex after he was treated at a local hospital.
