The National Weather Service in Raleigh has extended the
* Flash Flood Warning for... Forsyth County in central North Carolina... Northern Davidson County in central North Carolina...
* Until 1000 PM EDT
* At 642 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated training thunderstorms that were continuously redeveloping across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen since 530 PM. Flash flooding is already occurring, mainly in the vicinity of Welcome, and locations along the Forsyth Davidson County line. Additional rainfall amounts of an inch are possible in the warned area through 8 PM. Abbotts Creek in northern Davidson County was near its bank and may flood shortly. Tributaries that feed into Abbots Creek will also flood.

Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots. Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely.
