Flood Advisory until 09:30PM

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Flood Advisory for... Gaston County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...

* Until 930 PM EDT.

* At 634 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms is entering Gaston County. Expected rainfall totals of one inch in less than 60 minutes will fall on saturated soils from earlier precipitation, increasing the risk of Minor flooding across the area.

* Street and low-lying area flooding especially around Gastonia, Lowell, Cramerton, and Bessemer City is likely. Drivers and persons are encouraged to exercise extreme caution and avoid flooded roadways or other low-lying areas including underpasses and low-water crossings.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Gastonia, Mt Holly, Belmont, Cherryville, Bessemer City, South Gastonia, Dallas, Stanley, Cramerton and Lowell.

* AFFECTED AREAS: GASTON, NC
