VICTIM(S): City of Hesperia
SUMMARY: On Thursday, August 2, 2018, at about 9:45 a.m., employees from City of Hesperia, called the Sheriff’s Department regarding a female being disruptive inside of city hall, 9700 Seventh Avenue. A deputy arrived on scene and began an investigation by speaking with employees at city hall.
A city hall employee requested a citizen arrest of Blanca Gomez for trespassing. The city employee asked Gomez to leave the area which is generally not open to the public. Gomez was asked to leave several times. City staff then ordered Gomez to leave, but she refused.
After speaking with the employees, the deputy contacted Gomez and asked if she had been asked to leave. Gomez would not answer the question and would only ask if she was being arrested. The deputy told Gomez she was being arrested for trespassing. Gomez refused to comply with the deputy’s directives and resisted being handcuffed. Gomez was eventually handcuffed, and no injuries were sustained to her or the deputy.
Gomez was arrested for trespassing and resisting arrest by an officer. Gomez was taken to the High Desert Detention Center and booked for the charges.
