Fundraiser for Mark Manlapaz

On Tuesday, July 17, Mark Manlapaz was laid to rest at the Desert View Memorial Park after a touching Memorial Service at the High Desert Church in Victorville.  Mr. Manlapaz, a Cal Poly Pomona Public Safety Specialist and Senior Park Ranger for the City of Claremont, was mortally wounded after a brutal attack during the course of his shift at Cal Poly.  Officers and civilian representatives from several California State Universities, 20 motor officers from several police agencies, and local Fire Agencies assisted with the Memorial Service.

Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff’s Station Captain Al Reyes, Sergeant Mark Saldecke, Volunteers Fernando Prado, Henry Calistro, Michael MacDonald and Doris Hennings assisted as well during this very somber event.

On Wednesday, August 8 between 10 AM and 12 PM, Walnut/Diamond Bar Station will be having a Teriyaki Bowl fundraiser for the family of Mark Manlapaz, with all proceeds going directly to them.  Please feel free to join us, or make a donation any time prior to that date.  For additional information regarding the fundraiser, please call Walnut/Diamond Bar Station at 909-595-2264.

Our condolences go out to the Manlapaz family, the Cal Poly Pomona Public Safety members, and the City of Claremont Park Rangers.
