Pinon Hills man was beaten with a baseball bat while waiting at a bus stop; suspect identified and arrested

LOCATION: Bus Stop at the intersection of Bellflower Rd./ Chamberlaine Ave, Adelanto
SUSPECT: Adrian Diffendaffer, 28 years-old, of Pinon Hills
VICTIM: Male adult, 31 years-old, of Pinon Hills
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 10:03 pm, deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station received a call from a local hospital regarding a patient they were in the process of treating with multiple injuries. According to the 31-year-old male patient, he was physically assaulted at a bus stop in Adelanto.
The victim told deputies he was waiting for the bus when a red Chevy pick-up pulled up. The suspect, Adrian Diffendaffer, who is known to the victim exited the vehicle with an aluminum bat in his hand and told the victim he was going to kill him. Diffendaffer then hit the victim in the face, shoulder arm and stomach with the bat. The victim said he passed out and when he woke he took public transportation to the hospital. He was being treated for injuries, including a fractured rib.
Deputy Kyle Schuler located Diffendaffer and the red Chevy pick-up at a residence in the 10300 of Mountain Road, in Pinon Hills. Adrian Diffendaffer was booked at High Desert Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently being held in lieu of $500,000.00 bail.
