Specialized Detectives are investigating an in custody death at West Valley Detention Center

INCIDENT: In Custody Death Investigation
LOCATION: West Valley Detention Center, 9500 Etiwanda Ave., Rancho Cucamonga
VICTIM: Noah James Wittenbrock, 36 years old, Upland resident
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, July 31, 2018 Specialized Detectives were requested to investigate an in-custody death at West Valley Detention Center.
Detectives responded to conduct the investigation and learned that on July 26, 2018 deputies found inmate Noah Wittenbrock hanging in his cell and immediately cut him down and began lifesaving measures. Wittenbrock was transported to Kaiser Hospital in Fontana where he remained until Tuesday, July 31st when he was pronounced deceased. Wittenbrock was housed alone in the cell.
Riverside County Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Noah Wittenbrock was arrested by Ontario Police Department on July 18, 2018 for Robbery, Possession of Narcotics and Obstruction.
