                Deputy David Jones of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Billy Joe Kennedy, 42, of 151 Amy Drive in Nebo, with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of up to ½ ounce marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
                At 9:09 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, Deputy Jones assisted other deputies with a vehicle search on Workman Drive off Nix Creek Road.
                Kennedy was the driver.
                A subsequent search of the automobile turned up a handgun, 6.3 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
                Kennedy is a convicted felon.
