DUI driver crashes into a home, narrowly missing the sleeping residents; driver arrested

LOCATION: 15000 block Mandan Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT: Bailey Joshua Forshey, 21 years old, resident of Hesperia
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 2:35 a.m., Apple Valley Deputies responded to multiple reports that a vehicle crashed into a house in the 15000 block of Mandan Road in Apple Valley. Deputies arrived within minutes to find a 2008 Volkswagen lodged in the residence and the uninjured driver on scene. Deputies discovered the Volkswagen left the roadway and crashed into the master bedroom, striking a bed where two inhabitants were sleeping. The Apple Valley Fire Department examined the two residents, as well as the driver of the Volkswagen and reported they were uninjured. One resident began to complain of pain and was transported to St Mary’s Hospital for precautionary reasons.
Deputies Greg Teplansky and Trevor James noted evidence causing them to suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the collision. Following their investigation, Bailey Forshey was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and he was booked at the High Desert Detention Center following a pre-booking medical check at Saint Mary's Hospital.
